Who We Are

Founded in 1998, The Rayside Balfour Youth Centre is a FREE  after-school hub aiming to create a safe and inclusive environment for the youth of Chelmsford. We promote diversity, advocate for those without a voice and create initiatives to help the community at large.

The RBYC's mission is to foster the mental well-being of the youth within the community by providing them with alternative forms of entertainment in hopes to decrease petty crime and vandalism and increase the opportunity for positive social interaction in a rural town where there are limited activities for youth to engage in.

What We Offer

  • Daily supervised programming/supervision in a safe site offering a positive alternative to "wandering".

  • Trained supervisors to sit and talk with that can refer youth to community services.

  • Various leisure programs and activities such as arts & crafts, job readiness, trivia, board games nights, and much more!

  • Special outings (Sudbury Wolves games, rock climbing, golfing, fishing, etc).

Centre Rules

  • No swearing, acts of aggression, or disrespectful behaviour

  • All attendees must show appreciation for the building and equipment

  • No weapons (lighters, knives, etc)

  • No racist, sexist, or homophobic language/behaviour

  • No smoking/vaping, alcohol or drugs are permitted on the property
